Data protection is of particular importance to the management of UVEX WINTER HOLDING GmbH & Co. KG and its affiliated companies (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Uvex Group”). In principle, it is possible to use the Uvex Group’s website without providing personal data. However, if an individual wishes to use our corporate services via our website, the processing of personal data may be required. If the processing of personal data is necessary and there is no legal basis for such processing, we generally seek the consent of the data subject.

The processing of personal data—such as a data subject’s name, address, email address, or phone number—is always carried out in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and in compliance with country-specific data protection regulations applicable to the Uvex Group. The purpose of this privacy policy is to provide public information about the nature, scope, and purpose of the personal data we collect, use, and process. Data subjects are also informed of their rights under this privacy policy.

As the data controller, the Uvex Group has implemented numerous technical and organizational measures to ensure the most comprehensive protection possible of personal data processed through this website. However, security vulnerabilities can generally occur during Internet-based data transmissions, which means that absolute protection cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, any affected individual is free to provide personal data to us through alternative means, such as by phone.

1. Definitions

The Uvex Group’s privacy policy is based on the terminology used in European directives and laws in connection with the adoption of the General Data Protection Regulation. Cookies
The Uvex Group's websites use cookies. Cookies are text files that are placed and stored on a computer system via a web browser.

Many websites and servers use cookies. Many cookies contain what is known as a cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier for a cookie. It consists of a string of characters that allows websites and servers to associate the cookie with the specific browser in which it is stored. This enables websites and servers that users visit to distinguish the user’s specific browser from other browsers that contain different cookies. A particular browser can be recognized and identified by its unique cookie ID.

By using cookies, the Uvex Group is able to offer users of this Website more user-friendly services that would not be possible without the use of cookies.

Cookies allow us to optimize the information and offers on our website according to user preferences. As mentioned earlier, cookies enable us to recognize users on our website. The purpose of this recognition is to make it easier for users to navigate our website. For example, visitors to a website that uses cookies do not need to enter their login credentials every time they visit the site, as this is handled by the website and the cookie file stored on the user’s computer. Cookie files used for shopping carts in online stores are another example. The items the customer has added to the virtual shopping cart are stored using a cookie file.

The data subject may at any time opt out of and prevent the use of cookies on our website by adjusting the settings of the browser being used. In addition, cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time via the browser or other software. This is possible in all common browsers. If the data subject disables the use of cookies in their browser, it is possible that not all features of our website will be fully functional.

5. Collection of General Data and Information

The Uvex Group’s websites collect a range of general data and information in connection with every visit to the Website made by a Registered User or an automated system. Such general data and information are stored in the server’s log files. The information recorded may include (1) the types and versions of web browsers used, (2) the operating system used by the accessing device, (3) the website from which an access device reaches our website (known as the referrer), (4) subpages accessed via an access device on our website, (5) the date and time of access to the website, (6) the IP address, (7) the access device’s internet service provider, and (8) other similar data and information.

When using general data and public information, the Uvex Group does not draw any conclusions about the data subject. The information is also used to (1) deliver the content on our website correctly, (2) optimize and advertise the content on our website, (3) ensure that our IT systems and the technology on our website function properly, and (4) provide law enforcement authorities with necessary information in the event of a cyberattack. This data, which is collected anonymously, is therefore evaluated statistically and further analyzed by the Uvex Group with the aim of enhancing data protection and data security within our company, thereby ensuring an optimal level of protection for the personal data we process. The anonymous data in the server log files is stored separately from any personal data provided by a Data Subject.

6. Registration on our website

The data subject has the option to register on the data controller’s website by providing personal data. The specific personal data to be submitted to the data controller is determined by the respective input form used for registration. Personal data provided by the data subject is collected and stored by the data controller solely for internal use and for its own purposes. The data controller may transfer the personal data to one or more data processors, such as a parcel delivery service, which also use the personal data solely for internal purposes attributable to the data controller.

When registering on the data controller’s website, the IP address assigned to the registered user by the Internet service provider (ISP), as well as the date and time of registration, are also stored. This data is stored because it is the only way to prevent misuse of our services, and this data makes it possible, if necessary, to investigate crimes that have been committed. In this regard, the storage of this data is necessary to protect the data controller. This data is not normally disclosed to third parties, unless there is a legal obligation to do so or it is necessary for law enforcement purposes.

The registration of a Registered User who voluntarily provides personal data is intended to enable the data controller to offer the Registered User content or services that, by their very nature, can only be offered to registered users. Registered Users are free to change the personal data provided during registration at any time or to have it completely deleted from the data controller’s database.

The data controller shall, upon request, provide data subjects with information at any time regarding which personal data about the data subject is stored. Furthermore, the data controller shall correct or delete personal data at the request of the data subject, provided that this does not conflict with statutory retention requirements. A data protection officer named in this privacy policy and the entire staff of the data controller are available as contact persons for the data subject in this regard.

7. Subscribe to our newsletter

On the Uvex Group’s website, users can sign up for our company’s newsletter. The personal data transmitted to the data controller when subscribing to the newsletter is determined by the respective input form used for this purpose.

The Uvex Group periodically informs its customers and business partners about company offers through a newsletter. Our company’s newsletter can only be received by the data subject if (1) the data subject has a valid email address and (2) the data subject subscribes to the newsletter. For legal reasons and as part of the double opt-in procedure, a confirmation email is sent the first time—before the newsletter is sent—to the email address provided by the registered user. This confirmation email is used to verify whether the owner of the email address, in their capacity as a registered user, is authorized to receive the newsletter.

When you sign up for the newsletter, we also store the IP address of the computer system assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) and used by the data subject at the time of registration, as well as the time and date of registration. The collection of this data is necessary to obtain information about any potential misuse of the subscriber’s email address at a later date and therefore serves as legal protection for the data controller.

The personal data collected in connection with newsletter registration is used solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter. In addition, newsletter subscribers may be contacted by email to the extent necessary for the newsletter service or for the registration for the newsletter in question. This may be necessary in the event of changes to the newsletter service or due to technical circumstances. No data collected in connection with the newsletter service will be disclosed to third parties. The data subject may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. The consent to the storage of personal data that the data subject has provided for the distribution of the newsletter may be revoked at any time. Each newsletter contains a link through which consent can be withdrawn. It is also possible to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time on the data controller’s website or to notify the data controller of this in another manner.

8. Tracking in newsletters

The Uvex Group’s newsletter contains so-called pixel tags. A pixel tag is a miniature image embedded in emails sent in HTML format to enable log file recording and log file analysis. This makes it possible to conduct statistical evaluations of whether online marketing campaigns are successful or unsuccessful. Using embedded pixel tags, the Uvex Group can determine if and when an email was opened by a registered user and which links in the email the user clicked on.

Personal data collected via the pixel tags in the newsletters is stored and analyzed by the data controller or its data processor to optimize the distribution of the newsletter and to better tailor the content of future newsletters to the data subject’s interests. Data subjects have the right to withdraw their consent at any time with regard to matters covered by the double opt-in procedure. Following a withdrawal, this personal data will be deleted by the data controller. Unsubscribing from the newsletter is automatically interpreted by the Uvex Group as a withdrawal of consent.

9. Contact options via the website

Due to legal requirements, the Uvex Group’s websites contain information that enables quick electronic contact and immediate communication with us, as well as direct communication with us, including a general address for so-called electronic mail (e-mail address). If a data subject contacts the data controller via email or a contact form, the personal data provided by the data subject is automatically stored. Personal data that a data subject voluntarily provides to the data controller is stored for the purpose of processing the request or contacting the data subject. This personal data is not disclosed to third parties.

10. Comment feature on the website's blog

The Uvex Group allows users to post individual comments on blog posts on a blog hosted on the data controller’s website. A blog is a web-based, typically publicly accessible platform where one or more individuals, known as bloggers, can publish articles or thoughts in what are called blog posts. As a rule, blog posts can be commented on by other people.

If a registered user leaves a comment on the blog published on this website, in addition to the comment itself, information regarding the time the comment was posted and the username (pseudonym) chosen by the registered user will also be stored and published. In addition, the IP address assigned to the registered user by their internet service provider is logged. This IP address is stored for security reasons and in the event that the registered user infringes the rights of third parties or posts illegal content in a comment. The storage of this personal data is therefore in the data controller’s own interest, so that the data controller can clear its name in the event of a potential violation. This personal data is not disclosed to third parties unless such a transfer is required by law or is necessary for the data controller’s legal defense.

11. Routine Deletion and Blocking of Personal Data
The data controller shall process and store the data subject’s personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of the storage or for as long as permitted under European directives and laws or other legislation or regulations to which the data controller is subject.

If the purpose of the storage is no longer applicable, or if a retention period prescribed by European directives and laws expires, the personal data will be routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with statutory provisions.

12. Rights of Registered Individuals

a) Right to Confirmation

Under European directives and laws, a data subject has the right to obtain confirmation from the data controller as to whether personal data concerning the data subject is being processed. If the data subject wishes to exercise their right to rectification, they may contact our data protection officer or another employee of the data controller at any time.

b) Right of Access

Under European directives and laws, a person whose personal data is being processed has the right to access, at any time and free of charge, the personal data stored about them and to receive a copy of this information. If so, the data subject also has the right to information regarding the appropriate safeguards that have been implemented in connection with the transfer.

If the data subject wishes to exercise this right of access, he or she may contact our data protection officer or another employee responsible for personal data at any time

c) Right to Correction

Under European directives and laws, a person whose personal data is being processed has the right to have inaccurate personal data concerning him or her corrected at any time and without undue delay. Web analytics involves the tracking, collection, and analysis of data regarding visitors’ behavior on websites. A web analytics service collects, among other things, data on which website a user came from to reach another website (known as the referrer), which subpages of the website were visited, and how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. Web analytics is primarily used to optimize websites and to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of online marketing.

The company that operates etracker is etracker GmbH, Erste Brunnenstraße 1, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.

Etracker places a cookie on the data subject’s computer. See above for an explanation of what cookies are. Each time one of the individual pages on this website—which is operated by the data controller and on which an etracker component has been integrated—is accessed, the browser on the data subject’s IT system automatically retrieves an image of the corresponding etracker component for the purpose of transmitting data for marketing and optimization purposes. As part of this technical process, etracker receives information that is then used to create pseudonymized user profiles. The user profiles obtained in this way are used to analyze the behavior of a data subject accessing the data controller’s website and are evaluated for the purpose of improving and optimizing the website. The data collected via the etracker component is not used to identify the data subject unless the data subject has first given specific and explicit consent. This data is not combined with personal data or other data containing the same pseudonym.

As mentioned above, the data subject may at any time object to and prevent the use of cookies on our website by adjusting the settings of the browser being used. Such a setting in the browser would also prevent etracker from placing a cookie on the data subject’s IT system. In addition, cookies that have already been placed by etracker can be deleted at any time via the browser or other software.

In addition, the data subject has the option to object to and prevent the collection of data initiated by the etracker cookie in connection with the use of this website, as well as the processing of this data by etracker. To do so, the data subject must click the cookie button under the link http://www.etracker.de/privacy which activates an opt-out cookie. The opt-out cookie used for this purpose is stored on the data subject’s computer. If the cookie files are deleted from the data subject’s system after an objection is raised, the data subject must access the link again and set a new opt-out cookie.

However, if opt-out cookies are set, the data controller’s website may not function fully for the data subject.

The etracker Privacy Policy is available at www.etracker.com/en/data-privacy/.

15. Privacy Policy for the Use of Facebook

The data controller has integrated Facebook components into this website. Facebook is a social network.

A social network is an Internet-based social gathering place, an online community where users can generally communicate and interact with one another in a virtual space. A social network can serve as a platform for exchanging opinions and experiences and enables an online community to share personal or business-related information. Facebook offers social network users the ability to create private profiles, upload photos, and build networks through friend requests, among other features.

The company that operates Facebook is Facebook, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA. The data controller for the processing of personal data in cases where the data subject resides outside the United States or Canada is Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Each time one of the individual pages on this website—which is operated by the data controller and on which a Facebook component (Facebook plugin) has been integrated—is accessed, the browser on the data subject’s IT system automatically retrieves an image of the corresponding Facebook component from the relevant Facebook component. A list of all Facebook plugins is available at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/. As part of this technical process, Facebook receives information about which specific subpage on our website the data subject is visiting.

If the data subject is logged into Facebook at the same time, Facebook recognizes—with every request the data subject makes to our website and throughout their visit to the site—which specific subpages of the website the data subject visited. This information is collected via the Facebook component, and Facebook matches it to the respective Facebook account associated with the data subject. If the registered user clicks on one of the Facebook buttons integrated into our website—such as the “Like” button—or if the registered user leaves a comment, Facebook links this information to the registered user’s personal Facebook user account and stores this personal data.

Through the Facebook component, Facebook receives information that the data subject has visited our website, provided that the data subject is logged into Facebook when our website is accessed. This occurs regardless of whether the user clicks on the Facebook component or not. If the user does not wish to transmit this information to Facebook, they can prevent it by logging out of their Facebook account before accessing our website.

Facebook's Privacy Policy is available at https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/ and contains information about Facebook’s collection, processing, and use of personal data. It also explains the settings options Facebook offers to protect the data subject’s privacy. In addition, various configuration options are available that allow you to prevent data transfers to Facebook, such as the Facebook blocker for the provider’s web graphics. The data subject can use such programs to prevent data transfers to Facebook.

Conversion Tracking with Facebook's Visitor Activity Pixel

With your consent, which you have provided as follows:

“I consent to the use of visitor activity pixels on Facebook”

On our website, we use the “visitor activity pixel” to

Facebook Inc.

1601 S. California Ave,

Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA

(”Facebook”).

This allows user behavior to be tracked after they have been directed to the provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This process is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes and can help optimize future advertising campaigns.

The data collected is anonymous to us and does not allow us to draw any conclusions about the user’s identity. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a link can be established to the respective user profile, and Facebook can use the data for its own marketing purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s data usage guidelines (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can enable Facebook and its partners to display ads on and off Facebook. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for this purpose.

Consent to the use of the visitor activity pixel can only be given by users who are 13 years of age or older. If you are younger than that, please ask your parent or guardian(s) for permission.

Click here if you wish to withdraw your consent:

www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/

["post-1886","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
